Hello, I am in the midst of grappling with two unrelated problems. Would be so grateful for any suggestions/ thoughts.
First, I need to get hold of a good roofer or builder ASAP in the Glasgow area. We are buying a place and before we seal the deal I want to have an independent quote and timeline for getting some necessary roof work done. I tried the responsible approach of looking at 'check my trade' and got nada, so in desperation called randomly off a google list. But noone is calling me back! Apparantely the winter was so tough and the storms so severe that all the roofers are busy all day

So please lovely mnetters, could any of you recommend a builder or roofer on the west coast of Scotland?
Second, and totally unrelated, we are planning to replace a wood burning insert with a stove. we are considering the Esse Ironheart
Have any of you used this and are there any major maintenance issues? We will be taking it across to mainland Europe where there are no Esse service specialists. So it would need to work without attitude, with just an annual chimney clean. Any warnings, things we need to watch out for?
