Why can't this be commutable to London :(

I'm desperate to find a classy new build as I've become fed up with the time/money drain that is our period home, and this is just under our budget. Anywhere nearer the M25 though and it would ratchet up the £££ wouldn't it? Could DH commute to the city from here???

Oh gosh, that is a lovely house isn't it? I know exactly what you mean about period homes being a time and money drain but I'm not sure how commutable that one is - nearly 2 hours to Waterloo on the train (the estate agents won't quote the rush hour times), plus you would have to get to the station and park (add 15 mins), plus you have to get from Waterloo to wherever your DH is in London (add xxx mins).

You should also look at season ticket prices for train and car park - assuming your DH would have to drive to the station - and factor that into your budget as it might suck up all the money you're currently spending on your period property!

Sorry but it seems a bit marginal to me although I'm sure there are people that do it. My train is a nominal 50 mins to central London and I reckon my commute, door to door, is a shade under 2 hours.

Yes, I don't think he'd go for it. We would have to get him a flat in London, and I don't think we could afford that. I love it!
