Suggestions for colour in bedroom please

We've recently bought a new bed and I've gone for a gold & cream bedding. The bedroom furniture is white, and the carpet is a pale neutral colour. Any suggestions for what colour to paint the walls? I quite fancy using Egyptian Cotton but it is a pretty safe neutral, so I think maybe some sort of accent colour would lift it, but don't know what! Any ideas/suggestions gratefully received please.

What are the natural levels like in the room? South facing room etc?

It's a south facing room so gets lots of sun. Only really needs paint for 3 walls - one of which has a large window in it. The other wall has (white) wardrobes all along it, and the doors at each end have material behind them so I'll probably change that to whatever colour I decide on. Hope that makes sense!

You can have a dark accent, what do you like?

I quite like the plum colour that is around a lot at the moment but not sure if it would go with gold?

It will look lovely, try velvets.

Thanks for that. I'm put off slightly because it's lilac & cream at the moment and plum is a darker shade of the same colour. I fancy going for something different but don't know what! May stick with the plum & look for something luxurious like you suggest. I'm not very good at visualising things overall - wish I was

You could get nice gold satin or raw silk as well. Have you a link to the bedding?
