Paint colour help

I have white walls everywhere, which i find to be quite a cold feel.

Need to stay light colours but what looks good???

I like pale grey - either F&B strong white (very pale grey), F&B Blackened (very pale blue/grey) or F&B cornforth white (stone/grey). They are all great neutrals.

If you want 'warm', then there are lots of creams but you run the risk of looking a bit magolia-ish. How about Dulux Egyptian Cotton or Natural Hessian? (Moving towards taupe.)

IF you want a stronger colour, there's some lovely mid-century heritage colours around: look at the Kevin McCloud range for Fired Earth. Or F&B Calluna (heather) or Mizzle (pale green).

I forgot: Homebase do a shade called Putty, which is a taupey stone colour. Also one called Biscuit, which is a shade lighter - sort of a taupe cream. Both work well because there is very little yellow in them, but they're still warmer than white.

I obviously spend far too much time looking at paint charts.

You know how you see colours elsewhere and think ohh thats nice but then have no luck finding anything that looks similar, thats me!!

Think Natural hessian rings a bell, so will get a tester of that ( might have used that in old house)

and yes you are rather knowledgeable on paint colours!!!

I used Natural Hessian in kitchen and hall, but I think it is not warm enough for a living room or bedroom.

Pointing is a very light but warm neutral (again Farrow and Ball).

I have Pale French Gray / Little Green paint in my small sitting room and I adore it.

Also have a look at Homebase Sanctuary paints. I've been using these lately and am surprised at how lovely they are, think chalky and mellow and goes on like a dream. And much cheaper obv than the posher paints especially with the bogof deal that is on (at least locally it is).
