Living in Riverside Walk, Isleworth

Hi Everyone, I need advise from anyone living or know about Isleworth.

We are moving soon to isleworth on riverside walk, the end part more towards worton road. I got some nice feedback from lovely people here about the area but recently someone mentioned about the smell coming from sewage.. Is this really a problem for the people living on this road ?
Does this in anyway affects the property values ? As the time is passing, count of people will increase in isleworth, will that put pressure on these sewage works and perhaps they will expand more or increase their capacity ?

I read something in the paper that there had been a problem a few years ago and local residents had been given compensation because of it. Google the sewage works and read their homepage, something was put through our door about all the modernisation. I am fairly close to this area. Hth Smile

I have been reading this link:
www.thameswater.co.uk/cps/rde/xbcr/corp/mogden-customer-queries-2011.pdf

But the justification from Thames Water is their meter doesnt recognize the smell coming...and if it is coming they are sorry :)

I would like to know more about this particular road..is this road also affected by this works.

I have friends who live there - it's lovely. However, we moved from Isleworth a few years ago as I couldn't stand the noise from the (very low) overhead aircraft ...

I live a 30 min walk from twickenham rugby stadium, I think it's close to that?
Been here 6 years and never smelt anything Confused

Just googled and the road you mention is very close to the sewage works. I would go and ask a few of your potential neighbours and see what their opinions are.

LaVitaBellissima · 09/02/2012 17:25

Planes are definitely noisy!

divs59 · 09/02/2012 17:33

I will go tomorrow day time to speak some neighbours, but generally it is a very quiet area so dont know if I will see someone to ask anything :)

Thanks for you advise

Hi divs, well yes, you can smell it - I could smell it when I lived there fairly near by. But it's not all the time. As I say, the plane noise bothered me much more. Aside from that, it's a nice place to live.

Hello Divs59 - I too will be moving to Riverside walk and am wondering if you have moved in yet and if there was/is a problem with the smell from the nearby sewage plant?

divs59 · 27/07/2012 15:28

Hi shay1234, we moved to sussex avenue now, which is just the next road to riverside walk. there is a problem with a smell but only when it is too hot. area is very nice i have to admit, quiet and nice people around. its not too long us moving in, just been a week :) and it was very hot couple of days back and I could smell it, however what i noticed is when it is not hot it is ok.

when have you moved, how are you finding it ?

Live in Isleworth quite near sweage works. Can only smell it if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction. Also been not so bad in last couple of years, they've been putting lids on it and I wonder if that's what's made the difference.

I could not live in Isleworth due to the airplane noise. It was the worst decision of my life to try and live in Isleworth.

Five posts one after the other about isleworth… what’s that about??
