Anyone else waiting to exchange?

God, I honestly feel like I have no nerves left. We sold fast, accepted cash offer- then just when it seems were all on to exchange next week our buyer tells us they applied for a mortgage 2 weeks ago.

I can understand change of circumstances but im panicking it's all going to go tits up!

Im scared of their survey finding out something awful!

Luckily our vendors we're buying from are developers so there's no chain there.

I need my hand holding

Yes , we're in a fingers crossed waiting to exchange situation too.
The house we're buying is empty and our buyers dont need to sell , but I'm so jumpy !!
We have 2 teenagers , they're no easier than toddlers ! even more messy but at least they go to school !

Yes, we are. We are ready, our buyer is ready, but their buyer is still doing their paperwork. Solicitors are confident, the hold up is just that it is a leasehold property being bought as part of a shared ownership thing so the paperwork takes a while. They initially said they wanted to be in on the 14th...well they'd best get on with it then eh! Luckily the vendor of the place we're buying isn't in a chain (second home) so whilst they are keen to get on they're not pushed to be in elsewhere.

We're only about 6 weeks in really which I know is quick....but COME ON!!!!

I'm 6 months pregnant and want to get moving, dd is 18 months and making packing anything a pain in the bum so the house is chaos and I'm bored of the nerves now.

We are - no chain involved at all but it still seems to be going slow.

Still waiting for the paperwork to come from the sellers side so could be awhile yet.

We've just exchanged! But it took 7 months from getting the offer ... 3 broken chains.

And while I should be delighted - actually, I'm just relieved. The house we've exchanged on is ours that we've just sold. We're in a rented house now, but it isn't suitable long term so we need to buy. Which means we need to do it all over again [screams] [tears hair] [gnashes teeth].

Selling my late DM and DF's house as executor. Buyer wanted to be in by the end of this month, but I haven't yet seen the contract let alone exchanged it. No chain (as far as I know) and we have cleared out 95% of the contents - just left with a few (heavy items such as a piano going for scrap) to deal with.

We were supposed to exchange last week and move this week. We still haven't exchanged.

Our buyers had a detailed survey carried out in December - it reads as if the house is barely standing. In reality, it is a 1970s house and not a new build but the buyers are clearly very cautious and somehwat pedantic.

They have organised (and I have hosted) visits from a window fitter, builder, gas engineer/plumber and electrician. All have said that yes, there are improvements that could be made but that none are serious or massively urgent.

The last trades visit was on Friday and we were hoping to hear early this week how the buyers want to proceed but still haven't heard. This is clearly all building up to them asking for a reduction in price which we don't plan to give them.

I am so fed up with not knowing what's going on! I just want some dates for us to aim for. The buyers seem committed to the purchase but are impossible to pin down on dates. Even dh doesn't understand why I need dates in my head! I can't bear not knowing where I'm going to be living next week, the week after, next month etc. Thank goodness we're moving locally.

Btw the buyers are chain free so they aren't having problems in that way.

Meanwhile, our vendors have got their tenants out all ready to exchange and are now losing rent. It won't be long before they start losing patience.

Sorry to bang on - I have been needing this thread!! Good to know we're not the only ones in this situation!!
