If you want something neutral, go for Chalkstone. It's either dulux or crown, can't remember which, sorry.

We have walnut floors and doors in our house and we have used an apple green in the hall, sunshine yellow in the kitchen and various shades of biscuit throughout.

Either has to be neutral paint or something completely different like a brick effect tile, seem this effect before and with plain floor/tops etc its a good contrast.
