Thought I'd put these 2 things in 1 post to avoid clogging up the board plus I know how clever you lot are :-)
Please can someone give me a rundown of how to use an emersion cost-effectively and sensibly... Is it just a case of switching it on an hour before you want a bath or hot water for washing up and then turning it off again?
There's no timer on it and the hot water runs really slow even when heated up - we're talking boiling kettles for washing up and about 20 minutes to run a bath that stays warm for about 10 minutes tops! We are on a water meter as well so don't like 'letting it run' for too long.
The other thing is we have an energy smart meter for our electric from British Gas. We used to have gas and electric with them at our old place (both rented) and stayed with them for the electric at the new place. When I first set it up I found instructions online of how to ensure the meter was set up for your particular tariff. I've no idea if it's set up correctly now (guessing not as the 'monthly' amount is different to that on our bill) - does anyone know how to do this? I've searched many times for these instructions but to no avail.
TIA
