Cabbagey bathroom smell when cold - help!

In December we put in a new boiler and bath - both in bathroom. About a fortnight later when the temperature dropped (we didn't make this connection at first and I'm not sure if it's significant) we started getting this wafty cabbage smell in the bathroom. Sometimes strong and then gone. Initially thought it must be a leak but can find nothing. Started putting various cleaning products done the plug holes and loo and external drain (ground floor, drain is outside bathroom window) and smell vanished.
Temperature dropped spectacularly from Wednesday night and hey presto! the smell is back!
Any ideas? Have googled cabbagey smells and most hits suggest a leak somewhere but can't find any reason why the smell would only appear in the severe cold and can't find any leak.
Bathroom floor is bare boards with big gaps down to earth level. can be a bit drafty in their so have wondered if the pong is blowing in.
Wondered if it was a dead animal but wouldn't the smell vanish in the cold (if body froze) and after a month would surely be gone...
Looking for something that recurs in the cold and causes a cabbage smell!!!
