work on house with a 6mo baby and 3yo - best way to manage?

Need to do cosmetic work on house to prepare to put on market. What sort of things do I need to consider re: baby and DD? Should I aim to move out for a couple of days and stay with a friend nearby so I can check on work daily, check that paint/dust has subsided? (smells). Hope to get work done in March or April so it will still be cold - and we need bedrooms and stairway repainted, plus cupboards repainted.

baby ds currently cosleeping, we have a basement room we could probably all sleep in for a couple of nights. Would it be ok to stay in house while painting is going on? Just want to be safe and minimal upheaval for LOs. Sorry if these are silly questions!

I'd only move them out of their rooms the day (and night) that those rooms were painted. Otherwise as long as there's plenty of ventilation, it should be fine. Paint dries v quickly so if they start in morn should be no problems. Though if it's no trouble to go away while the work's done obviously that'd be ideal. We just had a lot of work done (incl new kitchen with major building work) with kids the same age as yours and it was fine because the builders were v clean and considerate - and our lovely childminder did our laundry and gave us homecooked dinners we could microwave! Good luck with it all.
