Please help me out with a new colour scheme for our bedroom.

Walls are currently painted powder blue, and we can't face redecorating, but I really fancy a change, probably in the form of new bedding and curtains.

The carpet is neutral, the bed is a white metal and wardrobe type thing is hidden behind a white curtain.

I really want something bright and modern but I'm stuck with the blue. I'm not keen on the Cath Kidston style country look, I want something a bit edgier than that.

Any ideas? Links welcome!

I want to re-do bedroom too. My plan is duck egg blue walls, keep curtains, which are broad/narrow brown, pale blue, teal horizontal stripes.....and then create big new headboard feature of plywood, wadding and very catchy looking material that brings all that together, I keep buying white only duvet covers in the hope that it goes with everything, white lampshades on bedside tables too.

Right, I'm inspired now!

I'm thinking perhaps these curtains, and a natural coloured throw for the end of the bed. I've already got white duvet covers and some blue striped pillow cases that would work, perhaps with some plain natural coloured pillow cases for the second pillows.

That should work with the blue walls, natural carpet and white furniture we already have.
