replacing a gas oven/hob

How easy/difficult is it.
Would be happy with just a new hob as oven is ok. Button on hob is broken and I'm fed up with burning myself with matches everytime I try to light it and also one of the metal bits above the burner is broken so can only use 3 hobs.

Is it a major job to replace and can it be done without damaging the surrounding worksurface?

Its a very easy job in terms of damage etc. You will need a registered gas fitter, but they are easy enough to come by, if you don't know anyone, where you buy it from will usually be able to provide one for a fee.

It won't damage the work top and presuming that they are a separate hob and oven you only need to replace the hob. Smile

Fab,thanks for that. Just didn't want to do it if it meant the possibility of having to replace the work surface
