Freeholder wants to buy my leasehold flat

The freeholder of my property wants to buy my flat, of which I am a leaseholder. Does anyone know of any reasons why this would be? To maybe extend the building to more storeys? Or sell the entire plot?

Could be any reason. Main question is - Do you want to sell?

it will be worth more to him than anyone else. He might be trying to buy all the flats so he can redevelop, for example. Hang on and see how much more he will pay than the normal price. Especially if you are the last one to sell.

It might even be to prevent the leaseholders clubbing together to force him to sell them the freehold.

That's what I thought, but now I can't find the company on company register, it says it's dissolved?
