I need a suggestion for a narrow lounge fire/stove

We have a very small open fireplace that we don't use because of the draft of the chimney and general mess.

We had thought of having a gas fire but we think long term this is expensive. Therefore we're looking for an electric fire, preferably a stove-style. The problemn is that the gap is only 38cm wide. Can anyone recommend one?

How about something like this instead? Only 298mm wide

Thanks for that. We want something that looks a little less space age - we're quite boring!

I think the idea is that you cover/surround the box with logs and stones in your existing fireplace so that it looks like a traditional open fire!
Not sure if electric stoves come that small!

If you google bio ethanol fire you can find lots of images which show them in a traditional fireplace surrounded by logs etc

I've got an electric stove but I have to say it's not very realistic and quite noisy - it just blows out hot air like a fan heater. I didn't pay that much for it though from B&Q years ago so I daresay they have improved a lot since then.

I think we'd rather have a fan heater. The bio-ethanol ones seem like a faff - I just want to switch it on!

I just measured mine, its down in the storeroom unused. Its 39cm and as I said earlier from b&q. Out of the uk until july but if you want it after then you are welcome to have it as I havent used it for a long time.
