Anyone know the going rate for a plumber in Mid Devon area?

We need someone to remove our old loo and bath and fit the new ones. We were planning to do it ourselves to save money (did it OK in last house) but with clingy baby and 2 other kids it is beginning to look like that isn't an option unless we want to be doing it at midnight!

So, I am trying to get some quotes from plumbers in the area and have left messages with 3 so far, (none of whom have called back yet but that's another story) but as we have never used a plumber before I really have no clue as to the cost.

Does anyone have a rough idea of costs? Do they usually charge hourly or per job?And how long it would take? (Hopefully loads less time than it took us last timeGrin)

Thanks Smile

No idea. We paid 2k to have a new bathroom fitted recently. We're in the south east though, and that included tiling etc.

I am in Devon and do know a very good plumber but don't actually know how much he charges per hour.
We had same problem with builders- would leave messages and they never rang back- found a fabulous builder through a friend's recommendation.
Message me if you want a number- (I am in Bovey Tracey area.)

Thanks Kansasmum, I think Bovey might be too far for him to come to us though Sad

The annoying thing is that one of them was a recommendation from my Mum whoraved about him - and he hasn't called back either!
