cost of decking

Has anyone had a raised deck built and if so what was the cost per sqm if possible? Just thinking of ideas for a garden that has a big slope on rocky ground so excavating to create a flat terrace would be more work I think than putting in a raised deck. btw, not in uk so prices could be far out but a ball park would be something. So, anyone have a deck that is say 5ft? above ground or is this a completely pointless post Grin

I would look around for other options. Decking is bloody slippy when wet and raised decking = rats

thanks, I know it can be slippery as I had it before but i'm in Italy now and it won't get used when it rains as it will be a lower deck. The first terrace will be grass or possibly gravel or slabs. Interesting point about the rats though or more likely cats but I suppose it could be blocked/fenced in with possible storage under.

Having said that I do want a swimming pool , most likely a surface one so it will get used when wet, though I can get mats I suppose.
