We're doing our bathroom up and was wondering if anyone has got a bathroom basin that does NOT have tiles around it, and if the wall around it is a bugger to clean i.e. splashes from toothpaste if it's just a painted wall or whatever?

thanks

If you use a washable bathroom paint it will clean up fine. I use an e ecloth that will also to the mirror and it looks fine. You need very smooth plaster.

We used to have this, but the bathroom was lined with old wooden tongue and groove panels with glossy paint, so very easy to wipe.

I have painted walls, eventually the paint wears away where you keep cleaning it. It will also collect dirt from dust sticking to the wall high up

I second wipeable paint. Also, get the biggest basin you can fit in - it really helps contain the splashes.
