Carpet for our bedroom and DS's bedroom

I'm not a big fan of carpet but DH is so this is a compromise. We're looking for a nice, soft underfoot carpet for bedroom (but not long hair-ish) and a cheaper, perhaps much easier to clean carpet for DS room).

Any brands/makes I should look at? I've got no idea where to start

And is the natural weave stuff too harsh underfoot for bedrooms?

look at polypropylene (PP) Heather twist.

Heather means it has a slightly mottled colouring so doesn't show marks as badly as a plain colour; and twist means the fibres are crimped to shape so they don't easily go flat and show traffic paths.

PP is stain and bleach resistant.
