Rye - do you live there?

And what's it like? Transport, people, shopping, schools...

Hoping to relocate to the south east and could do with some opinions.

I don't live there but used to be reasonably nearby. To be honest it's a bit of a mixture- some lovely parts, with celeb neighbours, nice eateries and independent shops. And some more run-down areas... Not meaning to be offensive but some towns which are pretty remote from anywhere else can be a bit 'local'! Rye has a share of that kind of thing, but on the upside has some lovely bits too. Transport links are awful- train or road, not sure about schools- don't think they're anything special though.

My husband has chosen a house and put a deposit down on a house in Rhy which sounds like my idea of hell, totally remote is there any life ??
