We are moving house soon and have the massive luxury of an extra reception room which we are turning over to our 3 DC to use as a hang-out room/homework room/TV room etc.
I'd love them to have a fire in it, for practical and aesthetic reasons. I just feel a reception room isn't right without a fireplace.
Have a had a bit of a Google and quite like the 'hang on the wall' type fires, they'd be easy to fit and look pretty cool but they all seem to have fake flame effects which is a bit naff. It's never going to look like a real fire so would rather get something groovy, sort of glowing pebbles maybe (yes, pebbly shit, sorry for the design faux pas 
). Maybe with glowing lights or something funky and teenagery?
Anyone got one? Any ideas?
