Different coloured (top and base) kitchen unit doors?

We're thinking of two different soft shades of grey (doors being made, matt painted MDF). Heavier colour on base.

Am nervous about this though ( no real confidence in how these things look) and wondered if anyone else had done this and they liked it/had advice?

We saw something similar in a shop b&q (still at the planning stage). They were high gloss cabinets and cream on the bottom with a deep purple on the top row. It looked really good.

Good luck with your kitchen!

We have just had our new kitchen fitted with ivory gloss base and tall units and pebble grey wall units, I won't be there til next Thursday but could send you a pic then if you like, I think it looks great (luckily Grin!)

Just one thing I would say, make sure they are two distinct shades of grey IYSWIM, you don't want it to look as if they are meant to be the same colour but aren't quite?

Happy New YearGrin

I have stained wood units and cream painted units mixed together, and I think they look fab In fact the kitchen company who made mine had never done the mix before but now suggest it to others. Go for it.

We have corian worktops in a warm flecked grey (Dove) - we originally chose sagebrush which we loved and is a greener grey, but had to change because it has veins in it which meant the join would have been obvious on our island. I also love the reddish shade "hot" but wasn't brave enough in the end, think it would look fabulous with grey units though. Considered creamy shades but they werent enough contrast with the ivory units, especially in our kitchen which is very light, would have looked to bland/clinical for us. What are you thinking for yours?

Splashback is to be bronze mirror but not yet installed.

Happy New Year to you too Smile
