Help me decide; dunelm v Cotswold company

we need storage for toys. We also need something yo but the tv on

this unit from dunelm looks just the job

I'm put off by it's cheapness, although it looks nice in the pics. I'm also put off that in one of the reviews of another thing from the same range it says the baskets are unsupported. Ie just in a frame, not on a solid shelf. I don't want it looking shite within a few months

this one from the Cotswold company (who?) looks just the same but is much more expensive. It's slightly larger and doesn't have a gap underneath for stuff to roll under

But....is it just more bexuase it's a small mail order company rather than a big cheap shop?

Dunelm one says it's wood. Cotswold co is wood and particle board

So hard to decide when you can't actually see them in the flesh

We've had the Cotswold Co one (in black) for years. Still looks great even though it's been used for boys' TV and Xbox (and therefore as a resting place for teenage feet) for ages. I will say don't expect to get masses of toys in each basket, but otherwise it's fine. Also have a look at Ikea Hemnes range which has a similar TV unit.

Thanks fresh. Arre you baskets on solid shelves?

No, but it's not a problem. You can't get enough in each basket for it to be too heavy for the runners...unless you were thinking of storing gold bars in them! Grin

Our last experience of Cotswold Company was an order for 2 items that we made on Boxing Day 2010. The first item took about 6 weeks to arrive and was damaged whilst the second item arrived in May! I would never use them again.

Thanks both

Not sure I should sPend an extra £200 on something so very wimlar simply blecause I doubt the quality of the cheaper one. A higher price doesn't necessarily mean better quality does it?

It's so hard when you cant actually see the damn things, and I don't really want to order both and return one, it's not like a pair of shoes after all.

Still undecided but erring towards the dunelm one
