What brand to go for.....buying a new washer dryer?..

help please! Thinking of miele or Bosch?

If you can afford it go for a Miele, please! I have a Miele washer/dryer in a flat I rent out, it's an old one and I bought it on ebay for about £100 but it is a workhorse! It works brilliantly as a drier, is 10 years old and going strong. I have never come across a washer/drier which works anywhere near as well.

Washer dryers are generally no good. Clothes end up smelling damp.

Just bought a Zanussi washer and dryer separately and both are fine. Wouldn't buy a combined machine because of the "if one breaks down, you lose both" issue.

Elle, I agree but reserve the dryer option to use in emergencies as we don't have space for separates....

We recently bought a Gorenje. It is amazing, I love it! Apparently the company (I hadn't heard of them before) make the Bosch machines. They are a bit cheaper but same quality. Company I got it from were good too, I found it hard to find the one I wanted elsewhere.

We used a Miele washer dryer for 10 years. We used it at least a dozen times a week. We've now moved and left it behind, it's probably still going strong. Only had to call someone out once in 10 years - for sthg minor as it turned out, sthg to do with not being level on the top as we'd moved it out of its space to look for something.
