Morning, to excited about DIY to sleep so I thought I'd post on here for your help.

We have just painted our bedroom in F&B blackened with just a dulux Matt pure brilliant white for the woodwork, I am about to start painting some items of furniture and was going to use PBW but wondered if anyone had any F&B suggestions that might look better??

I'm not a big fan of pure brilliant white - it has added "brighteners" which can make it look very "glowy" and sometimes a bit cold/blue.

However I wouldn't both spending F&B money on white paint.

If you want white, I'd suggest Dulux Trade White - it's less stark than the PBW, and cheap, and available in lots of finishes. And it's basically the same colour as F&B All White and Little Greene Shirting.

Or if you want colour suggestions - there are loads of lovely F&B colours for painting furniture. With Blackened on the walls I would go for something bluey grey - Cornforth White for example or Pavilion Grey - but the pinkier/browner greys like Elephants Breath could work too.

Thanks Minciepie I went out and got cornforth white this morning so you have confirmed that I made the right choice!

Nice suggestions from minciepie. I have a bedroom with Blackened on the walls and white woodwork. The bedframe is brushed - what do you call it? That greyish metal. I've softened and warmed it with floor-length curtains that are a plummy heather colour, and bed linen is charcoal and plum.

It looks very nice Smile

Ooh, just " blackened" my dining room, I love it! Going to acessorise in " blue ground" and "Hague blue" colours ( not the paint, that's just to give you an idea). Emailed F&B advice line and they were great.
