Installing a new dishwasher

Hi,

Does anybody have any rough idea how much it costs to instal a dishwasher where there has not previously been one?
Obviously it will need all the necessary pipework/plumbing as well as the dishwasher itself.
Any tips or advice on getting this done?

If you can situate it near to the sink, it makes everything a lot easier, as you have the water and the waste pipe already there, and you just need to add the d/w plumbing on. DH did ours in about 30 minutes with just a little bit of advice from DBiL.

It's really easy as lily says if you put it next to the sink - my builder just hooked it up as part of putting in a new kitchen for me - I think he needed two bits of plastic pipe stuff that cost about a fiver.

glad someone else wanted to know as that is right at top of my --need== want list .

But will need someone to come do pipework as be a problem access wise .Anyone have a ball park figure>

Hi, we had pipework for d/w installed about a month ago - on the other side of the kitchen to where the sink is, as that is the only space we had free. It cost about £160, that included a bendy water pipe thing going behind the existing cabinets, drilling a hole in the wall for the outlet pipe and a pipe going round the outside of the house to the drain.

All works perfectly - bliss (first time dishwasher-owners so still in the honeymoon phase!)

We are in the south west btw.
