Gas Hob - Can You Recommend A Safe "None Topply" one

Please?

As in the pretty basic one we currently have, though it has a British Safety Mark Hmm - isn't that safe - it was okay with my old pans, but with our newer heavier - safer rubber handled pans, its bloody dangerous Shock - if not set dead square with the handles over the support " + " they topple over - no good for getting DD cooking on & I'm sick of burning myself

So I'm looking at getting a new one, but finding it actually quite hard to walk into a shop & physically check them out - they just don't seem to keep stocks or displays of them any more Confused B&Q had none - only a catalogueHmm - comet next door surprisingly did have them, but NOTHING in white - all stainless steel, which I don't wantConfused

So can you either recommend a good solid standard sized gas hob, preferably with an 8 pronged pan support IYKWIM - ie an X on top of the + that comes in white

or can you point me in the direction of a supplier where I can look, feel & buy - all bar B&Q are on the outskirts of town so will need a drive out over the weekend

& I prefer basic, rather than fandangled as easier to remember what I am doing, but can pay more if I have to.

thank you :)
