How about selling empty?

So annoyed!! We had an offer after 3 weeks, but the buyers have been ignoring their phone for a week and we think they are probably pulling out.

DH is starting a new job in a new area in mid Jan and we want to be moved in before he starts so we can get settled.

It looks like we're going to have to sell our house empty. We've had really positive response to all our viewings so far but I'm worried that people will think something is wrong eg. can't sell it, if it is empty.

We are in a small town in Beds and we're an ex-council 3 bed semi.

Thanks :-)

We sold ours after we moved out - the EA were just honest and said we had had to move at certain time.
It was difficult having to leave it all in the hands of the EA & I knew their phone number off by heart but it sold in the end. It was empty for about 10 months in total.

I wouldn't think anything was wrong with the property but tbh I would think that the sellers were probably pretty desperate keen to sell quickly (as they would be paying two mortgages/rent and mortgage) and so likely to accept a lower offer. If that isn't the case with you, make sure the EA makes that clear, i.e. says you are in no hurry to sell.

Sorry to hear about your buyers. hope they are just away!

I think it is fine if you have photos with your furniture in it as some people cannot visualise furniture in an empty room so the photos would help.

Plus you have a valid reason for it being empty so not likely to put someone off that much.

Hope you get a buyer soon.
