keep coming into our house and leaving yucky slime on rug. We never actually see the buggers. Anyone have any tips on how to stop them getting in?

I've read that beer kills them and to pour some in a shallow foil plate. Dunno if it is true though.

We had that problem in the last house. DS2's continual waking up at night at least meant that we were eventually able to catch and evict the blighters. They may have come in accidentally (on plants, bins, recycling boxes) and taken up residence. Good luck - I feel for you!

I was wondering why people won't use slug pellets to kill slugs?

BlueChampagne · 30/11/2011 15:29

Depends if the slug pellets have to be within reach of small people.

I had the same, cought 5 slugs in 3 nights on my living room rug, put some salt around skirting boards (where children usually don't crawl) and have not seen any slugs since. It's been a month. I hope they don't come again, but if they do, I will get slug repellent this time.
