Alternatives to magnolia?

I am sick of living in a sea of cream, as have been renting up until now. I am excited about colours, but no idea where to start.... Thinking of doing whole house in non offensive neutral then adding colour bit by bit.... Is dulux timeless too clinical? Any other suggestions?

Farrow & Balls Shaded White is lovely.

I love Timeless, works well in our house, never thought of it as clinical.

Timeless is very White - might be a bit stark. We used b & q ivory quite a lot in the last house where we needed quick and clean. Not quite so rich as magnolia.

My advice? Don't do the whole house neutral and then plan to add colour. I did exactly this in my last place, and never got round to adding the colour, so I had a sea of cream for years ... Be brave, choose your colours now!

However, if you want something you could do the whole house in, F&B Pointing is a very good neutral - but it is slightly creamy in tone (not nearly so much as magnolia though). I also like Crown's Soft Linen, and Dulux Jasmine White, but again they are slightly creamy.

Agree with Betel that Sanderson has some great neutral colours. They also do lots of their colours in different levels of light to dark so you can pick. I like their Slate range (we have Slate II in our kitchen) - it's a neutral off white but isn't creamy.
