I am so disappointed.I thought that you all would pick my colour scheme even though it took 5 attempts to get my photos up (help with dark hall and red floor tiles plea)and you all probably lost the will to live.
So onwards and upwards.......any suggestions for not too expensive but hardwearing stair carpet and landing.I was going to try and find a stripe but how does that work on the landing bit?

At last I can see your pics!

Dulux seems to recommend natural hessian, gentil fawn, satin bow (all grey sort of beiges) and almond white with dark red (see the colours here: www.dulux.co.uk/colours/index.jsp)You could add some artwork with red to liven the walls up a bit?

My mum has a gold berber twist carpet with faint stripes of red running through it - something like that would work very well on your stairs.

oooh you are luvly.I have been mouse painting for hours on that Dulux site.
Thats exactly the carpet I had in mind!2 questions. If you didnt mind me asking where did your mum get it?and does it look alright with stripes on the landing?
Te thing is...I keep looking at those type of colours for the walls but Do they quite go with the gold/stripe carpet? This is what I keep coming back to.What colour are your mums walls? i bet you are going to say cream.
Sorry to pester you so.

No problem Wink My mum has some walls cream and some in soft truffle ~ which would also go with red. She bought the carpet from Alders years ago, the stripes look great going up the stairs.

Your house is lovely, BTW.
