Does Anyone Have a Tiny Kitchen/Diner?

I am desperate to have table and chairs in my kitchen now that DD is nearly 1 and new baby due in April. We can't afford to extend though, does anyone have any super duper space saving tips that would mean I could squeeze a table and 4 chairs in?

We have quite a small kitchen that we eat in - we've do have a dining room but it has become the play room. I also need to be flitting around the kitchen whilst the children are eating etc which doesn't work with a separate dining room.

We have a square dining table
www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10116811/ which is 90cm by 90cm pushed up against the wall. We had intended to pull it out slightly when we used it but we actually just tend to sit round 3 sides of it (2 adults plus 3 children). It is extendable if we need it. We have stackable stools that fit underneath it for when its not in use (with something slightly sturdier for our 2 yr old).

For something a little more stylish, what about something like this www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70176835/

Good luck!

Tripp trapp or baby dan instead if highchairs. We have a tiny dining area in our kitchen, but we all manage to squeeze round the table as the DC's tripp trapp's pull right up close. Try ebay for secobd hand ones.

Ikea do a table that folds down onto the wall when not in use. Stacking stools take up less space than chairs.
