How do I disconnect washing machine?

Hi, my washer has broke down and i'm going to order a replacement - the question is this, how do I disconnect the old one , the water tubes i mean.
Can I just disconnect them from the back of the washing machine and leave it still attatched to under the sink so that when the new one comes I can attatch the tubes, or do i have to pull them out from under the sink and start switching things off (hope not, but think i probably do)
Any advice grateful, as i've never done this before.

there should be a tap on the cold water pipe going to the washing machine (under the sink in a cupboard tipe thing

you can turn the tap off to the washer and then disconnect the pipe from the washer ready for the new one

some water will be in the pipe so put a bowl under it when you take it off

You can just unscrew them from the back of the machine, if that's easier than unscrewing them at the other end. Don't forget to shut the water to the machine off. There will be a tap on each pipe, under the sink.

That's great, ta! How easy would it be to reconnect the new one?

Can I suggest you check the condition of the water pipes while you've got the machine out. They're rubber so don't last forever. If they're looking worn or are cracked and hard replace them with the ones that come with your new machine.
