...the shitting bastards who have just decided they don't want our house!

They viewed 2 months ago. They had a cash buyer and needed to move quickly. It was imperative that their son sees the house before they decided, and it had to be that weekend but they couldn't give me an exact time.

So we cancelled our plans

And they didn't turn up. They said sorry, son couldn't make it, would come the next weekend.

So we cancelled our plans again (I had been waiting 2YEARS for this weekend). They didn't turn up.

One month after viewing they made an offer. No second viewing, no son, just made the offer. Their buyer had been waiting 6 MONTHS so could we find somewhere quickly with no onward chain.

We viewed and fell in love with a property. It took us 10 days, but we had a nice short chain. 4 people.

Our buyers wouldn't give EA their Solicitors. 2 weeks later, no, son has to see it before we commit (WTF what is an offer if not commitment?)

They were going to come down last weekend. Didn't come. Monday we hear that this is becuase of the accident on the M5. Friends of theirs - 20 miles away from us and near the accident - said the roads were very busy. OURS WEREN'T !

Today is exactly one month since the offer. The val was done on our new property today. EA rang our buyers to chase them up AND THEY PULLED OUT AS THEY DIDN'T WANT TO MESS US ABOUT.

Thank you for reading this far - (if you have) I was hoping writing it down would make me feel better. It didn't, I still want to beat the crap out of him.

The EA has just rung me and said, there is a chance that he may want to continue at a later date. My reply was not polite.

Forgot to mention. The house I have set my heart on - they had two offers on the table, they chose us. So I imagine that Monday I will receive a phone call that winds me up even more.

YANBU. Am now watching back series of The Property Chain on 4OD - very depressing how people behave. I hope you get a nice, sensible, serious buyer very soon.

Thumbwitch · 13/11/2011 12:00

YANBU AT ALL. I hate people who shit others about like this, I just hope that housing karma bites them really hard!!

I had friends who were at the point of contract exchange, had their new place lined up - and their buyers pulled out on the day of exchange because they "couldn't get flood insurance and the house was at risk of flooding". So my friend phoned around, got 3 separate quotes for flood insurance for them - they wouldn't accept it and pulled out. Fuckers! My friends lost their purchase property as well - their vendor didn't want to wait until they found another buyer. :(

Yes, the housing karma fairy should be pretty busy.

That's awful - hope you're ok! What a shitty thing to do, its not fair when you're dealing with such big issues as well such as houses - good luck!

MrsZoidberg · 14/11/2011 16:59

Thank you for your kind comments. I'm a bit calmer today.

The good news is that with the house we want to buy, the vendor is ok with giving us time to find another buyer. At least until Christmas and then we'll see after that. She said she wanted to give us time cos she liked us Grin Also the mortgage val happened on Friday and its all good - nothing worrying in it.

Our EA is bending over backwards trying to find people to view.

Don't suppose anyone would like a nice house in Somerset would they? - if I know its an MNer I'll give you a Wine when you come and see us Grin
