Silicone seals

The silicone seals in my bathroom need redoing. I've seen various kits for doing this, do they work or am I just better with a silicone gun and a wet finger? And if I am, what the hell do I do?

I just do ours with a wet finger and lots of paper towel!

Make sure you get every last bit of the old sealant off, I get the majority off using something sharp then use the stuff you can buy that's about £7 for the last bits. Make sure it is perfectly clean and dry (I use a tiny bit of white spirit on paper towel) and run a thin bead all the way along one side. Then just run a wet finger gently along it, wiping the excess off every now and then onto some paper towel and leave for 24 hours. Best thing is just to do it quickly and not to examine it too much!
