I'm looking for some curtains for 3 yr old boy's bedroom. I'm looking for something that will not look too young as he gets older.

I'm looking for pencil pleat curtains with a blackout lining. Can anyone help?

I'm just about to start making curtains for DS 4yrs in this fabric

John Lewis have some nice dinosaur fabric too. Or I've got some good stuff from here before www.kidscurtaincompany.co.uk/

Thanks for the ideas. I really want ready-made curtains and the blue/red finaly stripe is only available as a made to measure or as a fabric. I have seen the dinosaur one and I feel it is a bit muted.

How much do you want to spend?

I love these and really want the Milky Way one's for my sons' bedroom. You can choose from Cotton, Thermal or Blackout lining too.

Don't know if I can justify the price though. Sad

I like them. I really want to keep it under £100 though. Hmm, what to do?

These are maximum £85 and are blackout lined.

Blackout lined too but too young?

Avoid anything themed - he will outgrow it too quickly. My son had a kind of chambray blue for his room when he was 3 with different shades of pale blue on the walls. Walls are currently cream with one in a dark red and with a red / navy stars and stripes type bedding ( age 10) and currently moving into black accents as he is now seriosly grown up. Curtains still fine so it's just the accents that are changing...

I have a 3 yo DS too, and I've just chosen curtain fabric for his room. How big is his window - would it rule out made to measure? I have chosen a vertical stripe which has white, cream, lime green, red, light blue, mid blue and dark blue, and of different widths. It is lovely - it will last him for years and not date, and it has so many colours in it that I will be able to decoarte his room around it with dfferent duvet covers, paint colours etc as he gets older.

This is the fabric: www.threadandloop.co.uk/shop/product/644/sandbanks
