Hi
I recently posted about Trofast storage systems (which I have bougght) but then someone mentioned Expedit. Has anyone got the Expedit storage? If so, which boxes have have you bought - Lekman? Drona? Are they any good for 5 year olds & easy to clean? Many thanks! :0

I have both- brilliant for my 4 and 2 your old. Not really had to clean them but I think Lekman would be easier in that respect as plastic. Sometimes I think if I put toys away in them they wont be played with but I am constantly packing away so can't be the case. Going to ikea tomorrow - I am total addict.

I do prefer the look of the Lekman ones. I think I am going to return the Trofast system & boxes I bought last week & get a 4x4 Expedit with the blue/red Lekman boxes.
Many thanks :)

ive got expedit, not had to clean the boxes yet as we only bought it a couple of weeks ago and they have stayed clean so far. i got the drona ones although really annoying how they only provide black or baby pink - i want some colourful ones for dc playroom! but other than the boring black colour i found them ideal, meaning to go back for some more of them. the drona ones are extremely good value!!
i was looking for some nicer colour pattern boxes to go in there and did get some from argos, althoug the size not an exact fit (its slightly smaller, so goes in fine but fills the space only about 90%) they have stripey and starry and patterned ones in either blue or green or pink packs of 3, which look quite nice. just a shame its not an exact fit, but was about 7 quid for the 3 which i thought was quite good.
i also got the expedit thing where you make one box into 4 smaller boxes, which is perfect size for cds and also small toys are fine in it

I have decided I am going to get the expedit - are the Lekman boxes sturdy? Someone said to me they look like they may rip? Thanks :)

Have have one of the massive 5 x 5 expedit units in DS room. I bought 2 each of these boxes in blue & red from Dunelm Mill and they fit perfectly. They are great but don't put anything too heavy in as the handles will rip if you tug too hard (I filled one with wooden train track & ripped the handle pulling it out) but great for dressing up clothes, puzzles, playmobile stuff, stuffed toys etc. I've also just ordered the lego man head storage tub & fingers crossed that fits as it's very funky Grin

Are the Lekman the plastic ones withe the cut out holes at the front? If so I have those from our old Expedit (didn't fit well in this house, but we will buy one again for the new house where they will suit better).

They are 'fairly' robust. They won't fall apart easily and can be loaded reasonably. But not not with anything really heavy. I wouldn't load one up with bottles, for example. But neither do you need to keep it to only light toys.

I've been looking at the ikea hacker site too. @Firawla there are some hacks on that site for making the plastic boxes look cooler. I seem to recall one using record sleeves but you could probably use anything.

thanks i will have a look at ikea hacker, sounds interesting
the dunelm mill ones look good though bright red and blue is what i was after and only 2.99 i will probs order a few of those and save myself a trip back to ikea!
