Ill be moving house soon, I'm a single parent with an ebf dd of nearly six months, does anyone have any tips for making things easier?

I moved from Germany to Cyprus with a 6mth old. It was very easy. As long as you make sure you have the right amount of bottles and food prepared you'll be fine.

In relation to packing. Well babies don't notice the fact that toys have disappeared and such like so I wouldn't worry too much.

I'm moving tomorrow, lone parent with 10mo. Have paid removals firm to do packing as can't take my eyes off the baby for more than 30 seconds... Might be easier with a non-mobile baby though. Can you get someone to help on the day?

Playpen/travel cot. Make sure it's one of the last things you move from the current house, then it can be first up in the new place.
I moved with a 6mo and 2.5 yo, in a week while DH was away, and 6mo was far less trouble than 2.5yo as she stayed in the playpen and wasn't in anyone's way.

It was a boring couple of days for both of them, but they got over it. Took me ooh, 5 years to recover and am shortly to be doing the same again. DH will likely be absent again, but I am definitely paying the movers to pack this time.

Another vote for paying the removal company to do the packing - it makes things so much easier, and isn't as expensive as you'd imagine. Getting friends / family to help at the other end with cleaning and initial unpacking might also be useful.

We moved with 9mth old 2 yrs ago and cost for using removals company to do everything v's packing ourselves & getting same comp to move the boxes was negligible (less than £100) + they were fully insured for all breakages. Made life a lot easier- cost for moving from 1 bed flat to 2 bed house was £800ish.
It was fine for him but hellish for us!
