What is Tillicoultry like to live in?

Anyone know what Tilli is like?

To cut a long story short we have seen a house here that we like. We have two small children, and have been wanting to move to Dollar for a long time but there's nothing there that we like and can also afford. So, is Tilli a good substitute or should we wait until something interesting comes up in Dollar?

What is the community like for mums, toddlers, kids, teenagers etc etc

Any insight greatly appreciated!

You might get a good local response if you ask on the the Mumsnetlocal for Stirling. I only really know Tillicoultry in terms of driving through it on the way to Stirling, etc, if you see what I mean. So, sorry not be able to give you a better idea.

I guess you could also have a look on the HMIE website, regards the local schools, that might give you some ideas, too?

Hello, I live not far. Tillicoutry is just a small town, not far from Stirling and it has the big Sterling Mills and the Outlet. You could also look at Pool of Muckhart for property. Small village on the otherside of Dollar with a fantastic primary school

Hi yes muckhart is also an option but there's nt much for sale there at the moment unfortunately. I think that is the catchment area for Kinross high which seems to be a very good school, now at least.

I've heard Tilli primary is good but the secondary school in Alva less great.

I just have no idea what the community feel is like in Tilli as we always drive through or just go the Mills.

Kinross is our local catchment and has a fantastic reputation. It is currently out performing Dollar Academy!

Have you considered Kinross or one of the outlying villages? Powmill, Rumbling Bridge, Crook of Devon, Drum etc?

Kinross is a bit far east really for both of our jobs, but we saw a house today at rumbling bridge, which I loved, again a bit pricey. The Tilli house is great, but I don't know what the town is like at all. Just saw a house in dollar today too, and it was not our style at all. Shame, because I do know dollar us a great place to live. There not much for sale there at the mo.
