Head or heart?

We are having trouble between two very different houses ( same price bracket) , one in our perfect area which is a small 2 bed cottage with garden and potential to add a dormer in the future ( 2 kids) and the other,in a good area too but not our choice for schools ( as area a is) 3 bed semi with huge potential for extension and to renovate, make our own and have lots of space...

Area a ( small house) would be lovely, short term home in our perfect area, walk to school, all local to everything we do but area b , would mean stay in same school ( not needed) same doc (pro) and nothing really changing apart from bigger house/more space...

WWYD?

This all sounds a bit hippy-woo, but the atmosphere of a house is so important to me - when you walk in, do you feel at home? Does it feel comfortable? I'm probably too much of a "go with the heart" person.

And probably the answer is that if you can't decide then you need to keep looking for the house that you're absolutely sure you love.

Oh i am sure I could find a house i love, but not for our budget lol! that is'nt going to happen. Were we live, there has to be compromises, but I do love the idea of both ....
