Couches, sofa-bed, corner unit - WWYD?

Shortly moving house and am not taking my old (very old, was my mum's must be 50 years old!) couch with me. So I will have the joy of having to choose what to put in the living room! It's not huge - 16' x 12'. I would like to have the option of a sofa bed but can't decide on a couple of 2 seaters, a corner unit (which I have always craved, but don't know if it would be practical), or a three seater and a chair or whatever. I do like lying on my couch at the moment but tend to fall asleep and wake up at all hours so maybe 2-seaters would take away that temptation. What have you found a good combination? And does anyone have any recommendations for where to buy - there is a Harveys, SCS, DFS, Allan's furniture, Ikea, John Lewis, Next and probably some others that I can get access to but I've heard some horror stories about some of these and wondered what positive experiences you might have had. I like big squashy cushions and don't really fancy leather - and haven't got a huge budget unfortunately.

I would say get something bigger than a 2 seater if you have space for it (which you do from the sounds of it). A 3 seater (or 3 seater size but with only 2 cushions) is so much more generous esp when you have guests round.

If you like lying down on a sofa then maybe a sofa with a chaise piece (bit like an attached footstool?)

I'd say, in an ideal world a 3 seater and a 2 seater - if you have the space. If not, a 3 seater and a large armchair/1.5 seater (these are called different names by different companies, eg snugglers or loveseats. John Lewis has lots.)

Ikea and sofasofa get good reviews as budget options. John Lewis, Sofa.com and Sofaworkshop are a bit more pricey but nice stuff. I have 2 sofaworkshop sofas and have been very happy with them (except that I should not have got them in off white!!)

One thing to watch out for is if you have any access issues eg small hallway or doorway at an awkward angle. Some companies will take back the sofa if it doesn't fit, others won't!

We have bought several sofas from sofa.com. They are reasonably priced for the quality and they do free returns. They also do 2 and a half seaters, which may be a good option for you.
Their corner sofas are expensive though and I have struggled to find a sofa bed anywhere that looks as nice or is as comfortable as a sofa.
