Anyone want to boast about their amazing kitchen so I can get ideas?

So, we need a whole new kitchen but there's so many lovely one's to choose from I'm feeling a little overwhelmed.

Tell me, what's your kitchen like? What floor do you have? Worktops, sink, appliances? Extra bits that you don't necessarily think about straight away? Is it exactly how you wanted it? Would you change anything now & if it's not too cheeky, how much did it cost in total and where from?

I sort of have an idea of what I want. I don't want wall cupboards, I would like a slate tiled floor. We need to get all new appliances apart from a washing machine as that's only a year old. I would like somewhere to hang tea towels where they are easy to access but not being an eyesore, fed up of hanging them
Over the oven handle.

Anything else I should think about?

Thank-you.

My boiling water tap is fine and we live in a hard water area - it has a filter. I wouldn't be without it now.

Nothing wrong with a good quality laminate worktop. I couldn't be doing with the effort of wood with a toddler and a dh who doesn't do tidy or see dirt/water. We went for Duropal after some research as I was being a bit precious by then about all sorts of little details.

Anyone have a link for the bronze mirror splashbacks? Please Smile

I haven't got this, but since going to Grand Designs Live the other week it is top of my list when I eventually get a new kitchen - a corner fridge. Only takes up a square metre in the corner, but seemed absolutely huge inside. I was standing there lusting after it. One day it will be mine.

I have a slate floor, and its a real pain. It never looks clean and shows the dust and dirt really quickly.

I really like those cabinets that fit round a free standing fridge, they are a brilliant use of space. If you look at the gallery on this website you should see some.

Lovin this thread. I have inherited bluish white floor tiles - total nightmare (unless you have a live in floor cleaner). My sister has slate tiles and says they never look clean.
