When I say knackered, I mean actually threadbare and beyond redemption, especially the bit that is just inside the patio doors to the garden.
The carpet in the living room part of the room is fine as it hasn't had anywhere near the wear and tear.
Don't really want carpet in the dining room again, so does that mean putting in wood or Karndean-type stuff in just that section?
The floor underneath the carpet is dead flat as it's old plastic tiles on concrete (sadly very ugly ones, so we can't just take the carpet up).
Ideally would like to install wood floor throughout, but finances tight. What would you do?
