Hi
Can anyone give me any info on buying and having glass kitchen worktops? If you don't mind saying, how much were they, and what are they like to live with? Anything you think it would be helpful to know really!

Thanks

I saw some recycled glass worktops in John Lewis and was very tempted - although I couldn't find on the website just now. They were blue, opaque, shiny.

Anyone else?

The sort that are just a sheet of glass would have to be toughened, and toughened glass scratches very easily. Also the corners are the weakest points, and if you drop something heavy on them then the whole worktop could shatter into tiny pieces.

I'm not sure about the sort of composite worktops that contain pieces of glass - they may be stronger.
