How do we 'brighten' our kitchen?

Our sunroom leads off from the kitchen and we are in the process of having a new polycarbonate roof fitted to it. It is south facing so we have been advised and have gone for the heatguard one as it gets unbearably hot and glarey. Unfortunatly this has made the kitchen dingy as it doesn't have it's own source of light in there.

Any suggestions Please?

Paint it white, paint cupboards white or light colour if poss, have lots of light reflective surfaces (a big mirror? shiny tiles?)

Could you knock a "window" in the wall between kitchen and sunroom?

You could look into light pipes/sun pipes which are pretty clever. Don't know the cost though.

Hmmm... have just been looking at sun pipes things; Kitchen has a flat roof so would be reasonably easy to fit one

Oh well if the kitchen has a flat roof, then that opens up much more options. What about one of these

looks pretty good as well. Going to paint cupbaords white and we were changing the worktops anyway so going for a pale biscuity one (usually covered in biscuits crumbs anyway so seems appropriate)
Thanks minipie
