rightmove filters does anyone use them?

Hi all...I was wondering whether you think anyone uses the filter on right move to choose the type of property e.g. flat/house/bungalow or do people just concentrate on number of bedrooms,location and price?

Reason for asking is that we are on as a house but I think we should also be on as a flat as we are a townhouse layout but within a conversion so a house like layout but technically an apartment.

I have never bothered with the filter for type of property but wondered what you all thought.

Personally I did use the filter so would put your house down as both.

no, i never bother with type. just bedrooms and price and location

If I was looking for a flat id search flat. Ideally you want your property on every search. I have a chalet bungalow, & if it didn't come up on bungalows & houses id of asked why!

I use it because to search for freehold rather than leasehold properties. If yours is leasehold then it should definitily be listed under flats as well.

I sometimes filter on house, but when I was looking for a flat I never filtered on flat, just in case a whole house came up for the money. (It never did!)

So I wouldn't have seen your property when looking for a house.

Yes I use the filters - house only as am looking speculatively at the moment.

We've moved a lot and always use the filters - I've looked specifically for flats, houses and bungalows in the past, depending on our needs at the time. I would definitely request a change.

Yes I use those. Definitely see if you can come up as both if possible. if you can't be both then flat sounds more appropriate probably.

Estate agent had said he didn't think it was possible to be on as more than one property type
but I found some examples to show him and when he looked into it he found out we could!!! Strange that he didn't know already especially as the two examples I showed him were of properties being marketed by the company he works for!!!!!!

I see where you're coming from but it kind of drives me crazy when places are listed as a house in the property title, and then the first line of the description says "We are pleased to offer this 2 bedroom flat ..." and it is so obviously NOTHING like anything anyone would describe as a house! Not that I wouldn't have considered flats (we definitely have), but in particular if you're looking for something you could extend, add a bedroom/loft/conservatory, it's annoying to have to flip through loads of so-called houses that are actually flats. I guess it depends if it's worth it to you - maybe you'll alienate some people but maybe one will see it and love it despite the ambiguous status as a "house" ...
