IKEA kitchen appliances - any good?

I originally put this in Chat, but have just realised that it is better suited in here....

We are getting a new kitchen from ikea - does anyone have any experience of their kitchen appliances?

Extractor/oven/built-in-micro/dishwasher/induction hob.....

Can't really find too many reviews online - I was wondering if you kind people knew anything?? Please, we have actually bought some (although they have not been delivered yet) and now I am panicking they will be terrible. Gulp.

Any advice would be gratefully received!

Hi there. DH and FiL just installed our shiny new ikea kitchen for a very reasonable price and it looks lovely. We opted for an ikea oven and hob (mostly because it just fits with everything else) and it's fine. It'll never be a shiny expensive looking oven but functions well and looks simple but good. It's easy to clean too. We've only had it for a few months so I can't speak for longevity but it's a real joy after our crappy broken oven which leaked heat. Good luck!

Oh and we added an extractor fan too - seems effective and certainly isn't as annoying and rattly as my parents' much more expensive extractor.

We had an IKEA kitchen in one of our previous houses - didn't get the built in double oven and hob from IKEA (but found that the 'standard' size bought on-line fitted into the oven housing unit / cupboard fine) but we did buy the under counter built in fridge from IKEA and the slimline dishwasher. All fine. As others have said, they're not Bosch-type quality but reliable.

IKEA's fridges and dishwashers used to be whirlpool. Not sure if that's still the case. Our ikea dishwasher in our rental house was temperamental (worked fine when it worked, tripped the electrics sometimes and had to have a 3 month rest then worked fine until we left), but I think that's as likely to be due to shoddy installation as much as anything

I read somewhere that if there are probs, it is a major hassle to get them sorted - ikea refer you to whirlpool who refer you back cycle....

If anyone else has any advice/experience, I would be glad to hear! I am hoping we haven't made a mistake! TIA

Ikea built in micro.... Absolutely fine. Had it 4 years with no probs.
