Need some help please

There's a chance of a house (meeting next week ) while not perfect is better than what we have by the simple fact it is wheelchair accessible and after 6 long months 10 by time it is build I shall be able to have s shower And my current landlord is a twunt have dome few long spells of no hotwater or heating last one being 3 weeks

But only has 3 bedrooms need way of temporary dividing a room something that can be open on day to give room for playing but slid closed at night for privacy have ds1 ,17 .ds2 14 who will share .dd age 8 and ds3 age 6

Not sure if it be dd age 8 and Ds age 6 sharing or me and Dd which is more likely as lift in room from downstairs for me

Was thinking bi fold doors or something ?

Sorry should mention do not want permanent wall divide as if we get it and move in . OT is looking at applying for grant to build extra bedroom downstairs but can not apply till were in

And truth am so tired fed up and desperate living how we are determined to make it work for us somehow . Only other option available is ending up in a hostel with the kids and that could be for ages as no adapted 4 beds or even many 4 beds that could be

Hi, I have heard of people using the doors from Ikea's PAX wardrobe as a sliding room divider (much cheaper than bifold doors). See here for example. But this may be a bit more permanent than you want.

Another (more temporary) option is a screen that stands up like this

Or a big curtain perhaps? You could use Ikea's sliding curtain panels or a more traditional curtain. This page here might be useful for you.

Ty wardrobe as sliding doors may work but may run into snag as track on the floor will catch on my wheels will investigate further

I think you can do it without the track on the floor, just the track at the top of the door. It might be a bit more wobbly but should still work.

There are quite a few discussions about using Pax doors in this way on the Ikea Fans website, if you have a dig around you can probably find someone who has done it without the floor track (I am sure i saw one who had done this but can't find it right now).

Out of curiosity why is a curtain not enough privacy? I can see your DD might want privacy when dressing (if not now then in a couple of years) but would have thought a curtain would work for that?

My cousins had a sliding Japanese paper panel screen that slid across their bedroom to divide it. The advantage of the paper screen was that you could have it shut during the day and still get some light from the window through to the other half of the room. Disadvantage was that light from bedside lamps shone through. I don't think they had a floor track across the bottom - I think it was just suspended from the top, but it was a bit wobbly. It looked lovely, though.

It would work short term but wanted something that defined the room more as say my space then her space .Sounds selfish but I did 3 years of sleeping in a lounge then having had my own room for 18 months after I like having somewhere that kids only by invite and curtain be easy to just skip around iykwim

am considering that but also aware incase does take longer how long she be cmfortable sharing with ds3 for and inreality the bedroom is only a single .

Did think about having single myself but not enough room to allow a bed and acess for my chair and of course the lift is in the other bedroom .So if they had friends round would not want them messing with switches
