I went to see a house yesterday needing masses of work but area we love and lots of potential. The agent said to me that there was already a full asking offer on it. When I asked why they didn't accept it he said the people who made the offer were abroad and they couldn't make contact and decided to keep marketing it. Tbh it is worth less but I did love it so this morning offered the same and agent said he would get back to me. An hour later he rang and said the vendor would go with us but only if we used the agents solicitor I said no I have never heard of a seller telling a buyer who to use for conveyancing and told him to go with the other offer. So many lies! Now I think there was no other buyer and they just lied about that and I know they want the commission from using their solicitor and probably the vendor has not had anything to do with it! I am so cross such bloody liars!
