We have inherited a hideous fitted kitchen - very late 80s, good quality cherry wood but with lots of beading and sooooo many cupboards. We can't do anything about it (ie can't get rid of any of it) but main query is can we do different colour for upper and lower cupboards or will it look too 'funky'? I feel the need to break up the whole cupboardy-ness of the room...
I'm fallen down a F&B Origami hole and need some help finding my way out...

Bone walls, tick. Pigeon, tick. Just not 100% with the blue green, much as I love it, with those other lovely sludges you have chosen.

Have just advised a client to do Bone walls and Pigeon cupboards and it went down very well. I'd either go for all Pigeon cupboards, or if you want something in between how about Blue Gray? Depends on your worktops and floor though, have they got those green tones in anywhere? Alternatively, do any of the wall cupboards have glass doors? You could do Blue Gray on the insides...

I would go for bone and pigeon cupboards.Maybe paint some stools/chairs or a notice board the bluegreen.I nearly used it on some chairs in a our dining extension-but it looked dreadful [painter painted a bit of chair for me first].It looked very garish in RL.I ended up using Dix Blue and Light blue which are much nicer shades of blue.

wow thanks for this. am feeling i might go with just pigeon cupboards then. just don't want it to seem dark. tis a smallish/medium sized kitchen v old cottage with just 1 tiny window and glass panes at the top of the door (back door). the door and window look out onto a high, close wall so it's very dark in there. think i'll have to get a tester pot and see if it looks too dark..

Have you seen Fired Earth Graphite? My new obsession, it's a dark teal grey.
