Light grey grout with metro tiles - can you recommend a brand?

firstly do you think this would look nice with White metro tiles? Its just on either side of cooker area. I thought to get a more vintage/industrial/metro feel I shouldn't do White. But I'd like the grey to be light grey not a charcoal? Can you recommend any types/shops you have used and happy with the colour. I can't buy it online as I need it asap!
Thank you

We nearly went for a coloured grout with our white metro tiles but DW pointed out that it will make it look very industrial. I think her exact words were "public toilet" Grin so we went for white grout and it looks great.

We have silver grouting in our kitchen with small, coloured tiles but it's very light and only shows up the grease. If we were re grouting, I would go for darker grey.

In fact I've just cleaned the grouting with toothpaste in a last ditch attempt to get it cleaner.

Nocake- I am going for an industrial feel, they have dark grout in the subways and I want that sort of look but with pale grey. I've seen it in a restaurant and it looks great. I agree the White also looks very nice.
Belgo where did you buy yours from?
Any shop recommendations I can't tell how light it will be from the packet

Can you not just get ordinary grey grout from Topps Tiles or somewhere? This kind of thing but unless you are doing DIY your tiler will probably supply it or advise.

Our kitchen walls and floors are grouted in a cement-grey, it's probably something like that. I like that look, great idea.

belgo · 13/09/2011 13:10

I have no idea where it came from, the man doing the tiles just turned up with it.

PinkOlives · 13/09/2011 13:28

Thanks all
Mammonite- I think I will get that one from tops as it is local. The grout I saw in the restaurant was lovely like a felt pen, strange to get excited about grout, so was hoping to replicate somehow.

BAL do a nice coloured grey. They also do charcoal which is dark so not that one just grey on its own. I used their limestone grout with white metro tiles and it looks great.

stockist

PinkOlives · 13/09/2011 13:57

Thank you, I've checked and toppstiles stocks BAL, great to get a recommendation. I wanted to get it right, no point spoiling the look at this stage!

We used a silver grey grout with white metro tiles in our bathroom and it looks very good, IMO!
The tiler suggested it and it was the usual brand stocked by the tile supplier (sorry dont the details).

I shoul have said, the "silver grey" is actually quite dark, it moe or les matches the dark grey walls in the room.
I chose it because I hate mouldy looking grout and life is too short to be scrubbing grout in a large shower unit...

PinkOlives · 13/09/2011 19:20

Glad to hear that it looks good. Tiles are up now and they are quite overwhelming! No grout yet they've confirmed my idea of having a light grey the dark spacing at the moment is quite dark and i really don't want White. Light grey will be a good middle pont. I'll think about the cleaning issue when the time comes!!!
